Museum of Natural History - Guildford

Tucked away on James Street in Guildford is an old theatre which is jam packed with all sorts of animals including every child's favourite - DINOSAURS! Welcome to the Museum of Natural History also known as the Academy of Taxidermy!

You can see everything from man made life size models to real stuffed animals and skeletons. There are shells and eggs and teeth and everything your budding naturalist will enjoy. There are plenty of books for older children and there is a play area with lots of hands on play experiences for the younger ones. If your interest is not as intense as your child's there are a few benches where you can sit and rest.

Entry is $6 per Adult and $3 per child. The Museum is open daily from 10am to 5pm during school holidays and is closed Mondays during term.

There are toilets on site and lovely Stirling Square park, shaded by sugar gums, is across the road.

There are also a number of shops jam packed with antiques and homewares a few doors down. Maybe you could take turns with another adult and swap between browsing the antique shops (probably not something you want to do with children in tow!) and supervising the children in the Museum.
