Boorloo Bridge opened on December 22, 2024 providing a stunning access way for pedestrians and cyclists from East Perth to Victoria Park via Heirisson Island and parallel to the Causeway Bridge. We set off one lovely winter day to rediscover the challenging 11 km Echidna Trail in Walyunga Naitonal Park. Having hiked this trail from Walyunga Pool we decided to park at the Boongarup Pool carpark as this would shave off a few kilometres. McCallum Park is a large open space alongside the Swan River in Victoria Park which is often used as a venue for large scale events. This brand new playground opened late in 2022 and it is definitely one to add to your list! Located at Sandy Beach Reserve there is lots of parking. Starting at Mindeerup Piazza at Mends Street Jetty with it's Giant Numbat and Frilled Neck Lizard this walk takes you down to Coode Street Jetty and back exploring the Scented Garden on the way.
