Xanthorrhoea Trail (incorporating West Terrace Walk) - Maida Vale
When we were hiking these trails I wasn't sure if these two trails are the same of if they just overlap. Sometimes things make so much more sense afterwards and when writing this blog I referred to the Trails WA information on both trails and realise that the West Terrace Trail forms the beginning of the Xanthorrhoea Trail which veers off to traverse the ridge into the Brine Moran Reserve. Trails WA states West Terrace is 4km and the Xanthorrhoea Trail is 5km but we walked

Jorgensen Park, Kalamunda
Jorgensen Park, situated on the old Kalamunda Golf Course, offers the best of both worlds. You can wander across the old fairways exploring as you go or you can take the 2.7km loop Jorgensen Park Walk Trail which incorporates the fairways with bush trails including sections of the Bibbulmun Track. The trail has some inclines but is generally easy going. The track is reasonably wide until you venture on to sections of Bibbulmun where the track narrows down to single use. T

Whistlepipe Gully, Mundy Regional Park, Kalamunda
After an early start to enjoy a delicious breakfast at Mason and Bird Cafe in Kalamunda our group set off to explore Whistlepipe Gully in Mundy Regional Park. We parked at the end of Orange Valley Road which is a residential cul de sac so parking is limited. An alternative start point is the car park at the bottom of the gully on Lewis Road.
