Whiteman Park is a 4000 hectare piece of bushland located close to the Swan Valley in Perth's north. We last walked the Wunanga Trail way back in 2017 and were pleasantly surprised by it's quiet beauty when we walked it again in 2025. Wunanga means ‘quiet’ or ‘peaceful’ in Noongar and this trail certainly lives up to its name. This trail has been closed during the construction of the Ellenbrook Train line. A new map and trail notes are on their way. (May 2025) One of several easy bush walking trails within Whiteman Park the Gooloorto Trail follows Bennett Brook. Gooloorto is the Noongar name for flooded gum. Starting from Car Park 24 Mussel Pool West you cross Bennett Brook Rail line before heading through some gates and then following the brook for about 1.5km before returning the same way. Th
