Allen Park is a pocket of coastal bushland in Swanbourne, classified by the National Trust for it's high conservation value. It includes a number of sports grounds as well as 8 ha of bushland surrounding Melon Hill. This beautiful little park is a hidden gem right in the middle of Joondalup. Entry by car is off Grand Boulevard, opposite Collier Pass, into a small car park or you can easily access this park on foot from Lakeside Drive. These man-made lakes are tucked away behind the old brickworks opposite the Maylands Peninsula Golf Course. The lakes were constructed in the 1990's from the old clay pits used by Maylands Brickworks during it's operation between 1927 and 1984. There is a paved pathway which follows the edge of the lakes with a few exceptions where the absolute lakefront properties mean you need to detour through the residential streets. Perry Lakes Reserve covers 80ha and has a number of walking trails weaving around the reserve and the two lakes in it's centre. Although it sits right next door to Bold Park it offers a different experience. Bold Park is hilly - Perry Lakes is completely flat so it is kid and bike friendly.
